Her first job was working at the historical Heidelberg Hotel in Jackson, MS on Capitol Street and later at the Marriott Hotel on Amite Street in Jackson, MS, until when she retired. She spent her career working in the hotel service industry. Maxcine attended Sallie Reynolds Elementary School and Jim Hill High School. Tony Montgomery Sr., due to underlying health conditions. Unfortunately, Maxcine was unable to attend services under the newly elected pastor of the church, Rev. James Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Dr. Maxcine accepted Christ at an early age at St. Her oldest sister, Della Mae Hunt, and a special long-life friend, Servester Davis, Sr., preceded her in death. Maxcine was born on January 11, 1941, in Jackson, Mississippi to the late Mack Hunt Sr., and Annie Bell Cotton Hunt, both of whom preceded her in death. Maxcine Hunt who was affectionally known as “Mookie” by her siblings and “TT” by her nieces and nephews.
